Exhibiton HIT THE FUTURE — DESIGN BEYOND THE BORDERS EXHIBITION and MCBW LECTURES 2014
With the design exhibition HIT THE FUTURE_DESIGN BEYOND THE BORDERS, a project of bayerndesign, the curators Alexandra Weigand and Sarah Dorkenwald showed international projects that make design of the future experienceable. — What potential is borne by the interconnection of design and other disciplines? What alternatives does design have to offer for the use of material, resources, energy, and distribution systems? Novel assignments and self-initiated projects have led a new generation of designers to challenge common attitudes and practices and to look for alternatives to currently available systems. The result is a new understanding of design – design between and as an interface with others. With projects by: Nendo, Studio Formafantasma, Julia Lohmann, Tomas Libertiny, Susana Soares, Justin McGuirk, Mike Thompson, Stefan Schwabe & Jannis Hülsen und Shapes in Play.
